Goal

When there are huge amount of records in F01131M, the performance of R01131P - Purge Completed Tasks, is very slow.

Here are possible reasons why performance may be slow on the R01131P.

  1. The processing options and data selection are not being used correctly.
  2. Work Center has many multi-level messages. Multi-level messages will take longer to delete because R01131P has to use recursive loop to delete.
    • F01131M is for storing multilevel parent child messages, it is a recursive table (like employee-manager table), if this table is very large, R01131P will take a long time. R01131P will loop through F01131M for each record selected in F01131.
  3. One or more Work Center tables are missing an index. Missing index will impact performance greatly.
  4. Network speed.
