E1: CAF1: Contents with Apostrophe in Description Will Not Display Automatically Until Switching Layout (Doc ID 2616504.1)

Last updated on APRIL 01, 2021

Applies to:

JD Edwards EnterpriseOne Tools - Version 9.2 to 9.2 [Release 9.2]
Information in this document applies to any platform.

Child form with apostrophe in form name description will not display automatically until switching layout.
For example, when P0111 (Who’s Who) form W0111A is used in a CaféOne as child form, it will not display automatically until you switch the layout back and forth.
This is an issue with all the forms having apostrophe in the form description as the CaféOne description is inherited from the form. Below are a few forms that might demonstrate this issue.

A Few Form Names with Apostrophe
Form Name Member Description Form Type Object Name
W0100087C Who's Who MBF PO FI P0100087
W0111A                  Who's Who LD P0111
W0111B               Who's Who Detail FI P0111
W0111SA              Who's Who Search SS P0111S
W0111Z1A        Work with Who's Who Batch Information BR P0111Z1
W0111Z1AC    Who's Who Address Book Number... LD P0111Z1A
W0111Z1B            Who's Who Batch Revision FI P0111Z1

This issue can happen with any contents including URL contents when the description in the child definition has apostrophe. It is evident in the above mentioned forms as the description defaults from the selected form name.

Switching to another layout.

Switching back again to the new layout in Pic 1 above will render the Form P0111 and data will load fine.
