Details

The Vertex 2019 November Update contains filing statuses for Connecticut and Georgia.

Connecticut Filing Status Change

The description of Filing Status 11 will be updated from No State W4 Low Threshold to No State W4 and Filing Status 49 No State W4 High Threshold will be removed, effective January 1, 2019. Employers will need to re-code all affected employees.

Georgia Filing Status Change

Vertex is changing the GA filing statuses, effective 1/1/2020.

Filing statues 51 through 55 and 57 will be removed from the data effective 1/1/2020.

Allowances claimed per the withholding certificate are 0 or 1 for all statuses except Married Filing Joint, one spouse working this status allows 0, 1 or 2, this value is set as primary exemptions.  If primary exemptions are greater than allowed on withholding certificate, no personal exemption amount will be given during the tax calculations.  For example, if Single is selected primary exemptions should be 0 or 1.

Dependent allowances and additional allowances from lines 4 and 5 are set as secondary exemptions.
