Last updated on SEPTEMBER 27, 2021

Applies to:

JD Edwards EnterpriseOne Requirements Planning - Version 9.2 to 9.2 [Release 9.2]
Information in this document applies to any platform.

Multiple Defer messages for firm supply order results in over planning by R3483, when R3482 messages and quantities are correct.

When R3483 is run over multiple supply orders that require multiple action messages, such as defer or expedite, or decrease or cancel, then planning drives excess inventory, not driving inventory to zero as expected.  When R3482 is run the messages are as expected.

1. Setup a fresh planning data Bill of Material.
2. Set max order multiple and enter multiple orders per single date.
3. Change the demand dates or quantities to force firm order action messages, such as Defer, defer and decrease, or cancel.
4. Rerun R3483 and review messages and time series.  Note: Messages result in over supply situation as if defer quantities are not reduced as expected, following a defer.
