When creating Transportation Sales orders with Standard Pack Recommendation either through P4210 Sales Order Entry or R40R010 - Create Demand Schedule, users intermittently can encounter issues where the carton tree in F4615 - Carton Recommendations does not build successfully or is incomplete. The result is that carton detail are missing as well from the F4620 - Carton Detail Information table when they were created through P4615 Carton Detail Row Exit. In addition when changes are made to the Sales Order Detail then existing Carton recommendation are not updated automatically.
At this point the only work around is to edit the Sales order to bump the shipment and invoke transportation in order to have it recalculate the F4615. A more efficient and convenient option would be to have a Batch program (e.g. R4615) that allows the creating of Carton Recommendations and Carton Detail (F4615/F4620) in Batch mode. This would include creation of new recommendation when none were created at Sales Order entry as well as the option to re-calculate existing recommendations.
