E1: 49: Backordered Kit Generates Shipment Number in P4210 (Doc ID 2633497.1)

Last updated on JULY 21, 2020

Applies to:

JD Edwards EnterpriseOne Transportation Management - Version 9.2 and later
Information in this document applies to any platform.

Symptoms

A shipment number is generated for backordered transportation orders that contain a kit parent with one or more components that have zero quantity on hand. The shipment contains only a shipment header with no shipment detail in Work with Shipments. The same test run with a non kit item on backorder does not generate a shipment number.

The issue can be reproduced at will with the following steps:
1. In P4210, set the commitments processing option to check availability and back order the line
2. Enter a one line kit parent that has at least one component with zero on hand inventory. Verify the order gets backordered.
3. Inquire on the order and a shipment number is generated.
4. Go to Work with Shipments and a shipment header exists with no shipment detail.
