E1:ORCH: Orchestrator Enhancement Request to Enhance the Studio ToolsSet
(Doc ID 2643060.1)
Last updated on MARCH 11, 2020
Applies to:JD Edwards EnterpriseOne Orchestrator - Version 9.2 and later
Information in this document applies to any platform.
Customer is requesting to open an enhancement request for orchestrator to suggest some of the desired features like a similar third party REST tool the which uses similar functionality as Orchestrator to build its test steps.
1. Creating a test script by defining each and every step that will be performed - logging in, selecting app and version, defining the steps (examples of steps are entering values, clicking buttons or checkboxes, clicking the visual assist, making a selection in a sub-menu etc.)
2. After defining a step, "play" it and the JDE screen does exactly what it was instructed it to do. In this stage it's not writing the record, it's just showing what was scripted it to do. If the step is successful, save the script an move on. If it was unsuccessful, it lets you know immediately and can see right in JDE what was instructed it to do and why it failed.
3. There is a toggle button to display all available step possibilities or only the ones that are appropriate for screen and stage of the opened screen.
4. The options are nicely categorized ie) Common, Form, Grid, Menu etc. Example - if entering Form Value, then it displays a drop-down of the form fields that are available and appropriate to enter a value. After selecting the form field, can enter a hard code value or select a variable to use (which it was previously defined).
