E1: 42: Transaction Error When Attempting to Ship Confirm (P4205) a Partial Quantity on a Sales Order Detail Line with a Configured Item (Doc ID 2650005.1)

Users are unable to process an order detail line for a configured item through ship confirm. When the user selects the line and indicates a partial quantity, the transaction ends in error. The user then has a record reservation lock on the sales order detail line. The error is:

"Transaction Error Transaction cannot be committed. It was canceled".
Application data for P4205 successfully saved.
Reason for save: There was a problem with the server while running the business function ShipConfirmEndDoc.\nThe server may still be available, but because of state information, the entire unit of work must be resubmitted.\nPlease exit the application and restart it.

The issue can be reproduced at will with the following steps:

  1. Sales order created for multiple configured items.
  2. Select a line to ship confirm.
  3. Enter a partial quantity.
  4. The Transaction Error displays.
