Details
Vertex, Inc. has released Version 4.3.4
What's New in Vertex Release 4.3.4?
- Running executables on older 32-bit platforms
If you run 32-bit executables on older 32-bit platforms (for example, Windows XP or Windows 7), PTQ returns an error message stating that the application is not a valid Win32 application.
- California bonus calculations
In California, PTQ now applies deductions to bonus wages and uses the appropriate rate for stock options and bonuses. This issue affected the Flat Rate Supplemental Only calculation method.
- Louisville, Kentucky, school district taxes
When an employee lives and works in Louisville and wages are not passed in for all work tax handles, PTQ now calculates the resident county, city, and school district taxes only on wages earned in Louisville.
There are no interface changes required for the above changes. In other words, if you installed the 4.3.4, you will automatically have the above fixes from Vertex.
Colorado withholding is based on an employee's federal Form W-4. PTQ calculates withholding as follows:
- Option 1 (worksheet): For employees who use the 2020 Form W-4, PTQ calculates withholding for the following filing statuses:
− Head of Household (3)
− Married Filing Jointly (16)
− Single or Married Filing Separately (62)
- Option 3 (percentage method): For employees who use a pre-2020 Form W-4, PTQ calculates withholding for the following filing statuses:
− Single (1)
− Married (2)
This functionality is reported on Bug 30883726 for release 9.1 and Bug 30883713 for Release 9.2
