E1: 51: P51006 Will Not Allow the UDC 51/CT to be Changed to a Blank Value

Symptoms
When using the Job Cost Master (P51006) and the Contract Type (UDC 51 / CT) needs to have a blank value the system will not retain the blank value. It will not hold the blank value once the save has been clicked. The Contract Type is located on the More Detail tab of the P51006. If a blank value is in the UDC table (UDC 51 / CT) the system should retain it.
The Data Dictionary-DD item Default Value was getting populated if Contract Type (UDC 51/CT) is changed to blank.
STEPS

The issue can be reproduced at will with the following steps:
1. Go into the P51006
2. Click Find
3. Select a Job
4. Click the More Detail Tab
5. Try to Blank Out the Contract Type Field.
