Last updated on MAY 30, 2020

Applies to:

JD Edwards EnterpriseOne Tools - Version 9.2 and later
Information in this document applies to any platform.

Symptoms

With the following security set, for example on Address Book Application (P01012) and CafeOne Layout on versions v01, v02 and v03:

1. role1 can view and run V01 cafeone layout only
if user login as role1, this user shall only see V01 layout
if user login as *All, it will depend on what other included roles have.

2. role2 can view and run V02 cafeone layout only
if user login as role2, this user shall only see V02 layout
if user login as *All, it will depend on what other included roles have.

3. role3 can view V01 and run cafeone layout V03
if user login as role3, this user shall see V01 and V02 cafeone layout
if user login as *All, it will depend on what other included roles have.

There are cases where it is required the following scenario: they are launching app with version, for example P01012|V01, this cafeone layout is rendered but the customer would like that V02 cafeone layout shall not be selectable at all. The reason is that user is launching the app by version. The current model doesn't allow this.
The cafeone layout should be directly assigned to the application version. If you launch an application with a certain version only the cafeone layouts designed for this version should be available for selection.

Also the current model requests users to login with different roles in order to work with different versions and cafeone layouts which is not a reasonable working way. The cafeone layout should be linked only to application version and not through the security per application version as it is now. The existing security for running applications and versions shouldn't be mixed with the cafeone layouts security which can be set at UDOs level.
