E1: 42B: Option to Control the Sold To Attention (SDATTN) Default in P42101 SO Entry (Doc ID 2676553.1)

Last updated on JUNE 02, 2020

Applies to:

JD Edwards EnterpriseOne Sales Order Management - Version 9.2 and later
Information in this document applies to any platform.

Symptoms

When using P42101 Sales Order Entry the user can populate the Sold To Contact ID (CCIDLN) or Ship To Contact ID (SHCCIDLN) on the header with a value that comes from the Who's Who (P0111) and the Contact ID's "Alpha name" appears beside the field, as it should. However when changing to another tab and going back to order information then the Sold To Attention field (SDATTN) or Ship to Attention field (SPATTN) are automatically populated as well with the Contact ID's 'Alpha Name (If there is no text already present in SDATTN or SPATTN). Users have to blank out the Attention fields and populated it with a (.) to avoid the Attention fields being printed on the output of UBE's.
There are currently processing options on the P4210 Defaults tab, #18. Sold To Contact Record Type and #19. Ship To Contact Record Type, that control the default into the Sold To or Ship To Contact ID.
Customers are looking for a similar option to control the Default for the Sold To and Ship To Attention fields, so it can be specified whether the Contact ID should default into the Attention field or whether the field should remain blank and open for customer entry.
