E1: 09: Journal Entry Fails to Systematically Populate Leading Zeros in Subledger Field (P0911) (Doc ID 2685058.1)

Last updated on OCTOBER 16, 2020

Applies to:

JD Edwards EnterpriseOne General Ledger - Version 9.2 and later
Information in this document applies to any platform.

Symptoms

When entering a transaction with the Journal Entry (P0911) application, if the Subledger field is populated with a value that does not fill up the 8 characters of the field, the program should automatically populate the field with leading zeros to populate all characters once the focus has been moved away from the Subledger field.  There is an issue where the program fails to update the field with the leading zeros, for example if a value such as "72" is entered, the expectation would be that the field should automatically change to "00000072".  When the issue occurs, the original value of just "72" remains in the field.  The downstream consequence of this is that the F0911 and F0902 records will contain the incorrect "72" value instead of the correct "00000072" value, which are essentially corrupted records that can impact the accuracy of reports and inquiries.
