Purpose

This document addresses some Frequently Asked Questions on JD Edwards (JDE) software Browsers Support in regards to the recent announcement from Microsoft on the End-of-Support for Internet Explorer (IE) 11 and its impact on support for Internet Explorer 11. It also states the impact on the different browsers with Oracle JD Edwards EnterpriseOne due to the withdrawal of the support for ActiveX.

Customers have built business processes that include creating, editing the Media Objects and ability to import and export data easily from the JD Edwards Grid to Microsoft Excel. They have leveraged ActiveX from Microsoft to do so. Since Microsoft has deprecated ActiveX, it is necessary to provide functional continuity to customers who are looking for these capabilities.

JD Edwards now provides customers with a solution that removes the dependency on ActiveX and leverages the import/export of EnterpriseOne grid data functionality and the ability to create, edit, and manage media objects across all JD Edwards supported browsers, namely, Google Chrome, Mozilla Firefox, Apple Safari and Microsoft Edge based on Chromium. For the latest versions of supported browsers, please refer to My Oracle Support Certifications and Platform Statement of Direction. For more information on latest capabilities of Media Objects, please refer to Enhanced Browser Support for Media Objects (Doc ID 2768518.1).
