Symptoms
Using P4617 Pick Confirmation to process entire LPN quantity as a variance leaves LPN commitment record.
When performing the variance while confirming the Phase 2 pick, the F46L12 is not cleared. As a result of F46L12 not being cleared, error 402N Items on License Plate are Committed is generated when attempting to Transfer this item using the Row exit from the License Plate Workbench.
The P4617 Pick Confirmation application is used to confirm, cancel, etc. Pick Suggestions. When the suggestion is for a License Plate controlled (LPN) item that is also set up for 2 Phase processing, the P4617 is used to confirm first Phase 1 and then Phase 2 as 2 separate processes.
When the Sales Order Pick Suggestion is created via R46171 - Location Selection Driver for an LPN item, a LPN commitment record is created in the F46L12 LPN Commitment table. This record remains in the table until the Suggestion is confirmed or cancelled.
In this scenario, Phase 1 of the Suggestion is confirmed for the full quantity on the sales order. Then at the confirmation step for Phase 2, the Override/Variance process is used to 'Variance' off the entire quantity of the order line. The LPN/quantity has been updated to show in the Variance location. At this point the F46L12 record should be cleared/deleted, but it is being retained.
The F46L12 not being cleared/deleted is the main issue in this scenario.
Because the F46L12 is not deleted after the variance step, additional issues / errors will be encountered downstream during additional processes that involve this item/location/LPN record. In this example, after the variance was processed, the Sales Order was closed using P4205 - Ship Confirmation (by clearing the Quantity Shipped and populating Quantity Closed and then confirming the order). Next, the LPN/quantity that now resides in the Variance location is transferred via Row Exit from P46L10 - LPN Workbench from the Variance location to a pick location. When this is attempted, error 402N Items on License Plate are Committed is generated and the transfer cannot be completed. The error is given because the F46L12 record still exists.
Recap of expected results:
- The F46L12 commitment should only exist while there are open F4611 Suggestions to be processed for that LPN.
- Once Suggestions are completed or canceled, the F46L12 Commitment should be deleted.
- The commitment in F46L12 should be deleted after doing the Variance.
