E1: 40R: Enhancement Request For Flag In Demand Rules For Ahead/Behind Planned To Calculate Cumulative Quantity Correctly (Doc ID 2751579.1)

Last updated on MARCH 12, 2021

Applies to:

JD Edwards EnterpriseOne Demand Scheduling Execution - Version 9.2 and later
Information in this document applies to any platform.

Symptoms

Currently, the ahead/behind calculation when running the Inbound Demand UBE (R47171) only works for firm demand. In the Demand Rules (P40R20), there is an option to allow ahead/behind calculation for planned demand. This functionality was never implemented in our base code for Demand Scheduling. For some customers, this may be acceptable. But for customers that are using cumulative quantities in their inbound EDI (CUM Quantity Flag equal to 1 in the F47172), this causes the forecasted quantities for the first record on the demand schedule to be overstated. The firm demand being processed will take the quantity value on the first record on the F47173 and subtract the CUM shipped value in the F40R12 to calculate the correct quantity for the first day being processed. For planned demand, the actual quantity on the F47173 record is inserted in the F40R11, which will be a larger quantity than what the customer is requesting. This enhancement is to ask that the flag in the Demand Rules for ahead/behind - planned is coded to properly calculate the quantity the customer is requesting when processing cumulative quantities.
