Vertex PTQ Release 4.3.9 was modified to support the new Seattle Payroll Expense Tax.

The Seattle Payroll Expense tax is an employer tax. A business entity is subject to the tax in the current year only if their prior-year Seattle payroll was $7 million or greater.

The variable tax rate is based on these values from the current calendar year: The employer’s total estimated annual Seattle payroll And the employee’s total estimated annual Seattle payroll.
The employer Seattle Payroll Expense tax is set up as eVprtTaxIDLMISCER (Tax ID 45/533).

PTQ uses two forms to calculate this tax:

To calculate the tax, you must pass in the following:

Both new forms. If only one form is passed in or no forms are passed in, PTQ does not calculate the tax.
Both required values. Even if you are using a rate override, you must pass in the appropriate amounts for PTQ to calculate the tax. PTQ can look up the rate based on the amount you pass in, or you can pass in a rate override on the employer tax handle.
