Symptoms
The company has acquired a new division which is converting from a Legacy System to JD Edwards and needs to create thousands of new items. The new division is required by their customers to be UCC 128 Compliant.
Currently, JD Edwards offers a program for Apparel (System Code 41F) customers called "Generate EAN13" (RCW28) which automatically generates and populates the UCC/SCC Codes in the Item Master Storage Shipping Screen (P4101 Form W4101D).
Unfortunately there is no program like this is for JD Edwards clients who do not use the Apparel Module and who need to create new inventory records or updating existing inventory records for UCC 128 and/or EAN13 Compliance.
