E1: 42: Open Cursor For Cache &1 Failed (078M) Error Happens By Sales Updates R42800 (Doc ID 2776301.1)

Last updated on MAY 13, 2021

Applies to:

JD Edwards EnterpriseOne Sales Order Management - Version 9.2 to 9.2 [Release 9.2]
Information in this document applies to any platform.

Symptoms

The issue have happen AFTER upgrading Tools release to 9.2.4.3 (including UN4 and JN18012 applied)

R42800 hits error 'Open Cursor for cache &1 failed' (078M). And R42800 does not process all orders selected at a time.

If data selection inserts order by order, R42800 can sales update successfully without any error.

If data selection involves a range of orders, the impacted orders will decrease every time we submit, but the error still persists.

For example,

In case that sales orders needed to be sales update in total is 400 orders, when submitting  R42800 for the first time, around 200 orders were processed and the remaining 200 orders hit '078M' error.

Submit R42800 with the same data selection for the 2nd times, around 100 orders were updated and the remaining 100 orders hit '078M' error.

Submit R42800 with the same data selection for the 3rd times, around 50 orders were processed and the remaining 50 orders hit '078M' error.

Even if generating and distributing full package, the issue has still happened. And this issue happens only when Outbound Inventory (SY42I) turns on in System Control (P99410).
