E1: 31B: Operation Cost Report - R31B310 Adds Bogus Cost Components on FARM Operations (Doc ID 2782486.1)

Symptoms

When having 2 different FARM operations using the same cost components for either Equipment or Resources tabs and editing the first operation by adding and then deleting e.g. some consumables, R31B310 adds the cost of the consumable item to the second (subsequent) operation even though that consumable item does not exist anymore on the first operation.

The issue can be reproduced at will with the following steps:

  1. P31B13 - Make sure the Winery Constants are set to allow Operational Costs
  2. P40G01 - Select a Farm
  3. P40G02 - Define a Block within the previous farm
  4. P40G032 - Define a harvest for the previous block, with a Current harvest status
  5. P31B20 - Create cost component for resources / labor
  6. P31B21 - Define a cost group to use the previous cost component
  7. P31B11 - Set 2 Work Groups for the current winery using the above Cost Group
  8. P31B75P - Define a new configured FARM operation (based on e.g. standard FARM operation)
  9. P31B94 - Create 3 different FARM operations for the above block / harvest
    op # 1
    - Equipment # 9040; Actual Time = 1; Time UOM = Hours
    - Consumables: Quantity = 1 EA
    - Resources: Work Group Code # 1 defined above; Actual Time = 1; Time UOM = Hours
    op # 2
    - Equipment # 9040; Actual Time = 1; Time UOM = Hours
    - Consumables = blank
    - Resources: Work Group Code # 2 defined above; Actual Time = 1; Time UOM = Hours
    op # 3
    - Equipment # 9040; Actual Time = 1; Time UOM = Hours
    - Consumables = none
    - Resources: Work Group Code # 2 defined above; Actual Time = 1; Time UOM = Hours
  10. R31B310 - Review the cost components for each operation; the results are correct:
    - total cost for consumables = 55.00 (correct)
    - total cost for equipment = 12.50 x 3 = 37.50 (correct)
    - total cost for resources = 10.00 x 3 = 30.00 (correct)
  11. P34B94 - Edit the first operation
  12. P40G30 - For Equipment # 9040 change the Actual Time to 10 hours; save the changes
  13. P31B94 - Edit the second operation
  14. P40G30 - Add a consumable item to op # 2:
    - in Consumables tab add the same consumable item defined on the first operation, with a Quantity = 10 EA; save the changes
  15. P31B94 - Re-inquire on the second operation; re-edit the operation
  16. P40G30 - Delete the consumable item defined on the previous step; save the changes
  17. R31B310 - Re-run the UBE and review the new cost components for each operation; the results are incorrect:
    - total cost for consumables = 55.00 (correct) + 55.00 X 10 EA (incorrect) for the 3rd operation!!! = 605.00
    - total cost for equipment = 12.50 x 10 + 12.5 x 2 = 150.00 (correct)
    - total cost for resources = 10.00 x 3 = 30.00 (correct)
    The system incorrectly adds a cost component for the subsequent operation having the same resources assigned as the ones defined for the operation that had the consumables added and then deleted correctly.
    The grand total of all grower operations is overstated.
