E1: 34: Option To Inflate Order Quantity Per Scrap And Yield In Formulation Based Manufacturing (Doc ID 2784077.1)

Last updated on JUNE 14, 2021

Applies to:

JD Edwards EnterpriseOne Requirements Planning - Version 9.2 and later
Information in this document applies to any platform.

Symptoms

In JD Edwards, the WO quantity from planning will match the demand quantity, independent of parent scrap or routing operation yields. In third party systems, users are exposed to systems that inflate the work order quantity based on a scrap percent or yield percent entered at order entry in order to inflate component requirements. The work orders are completed for the demand quantity plus the scrap percentage, with the quantity completed to inventory, adjusted accordingly.

In either system, the lower level requirements, are inflated, accordingly.

This enhancement requests the option to provide an accurate solution to formulation/extract based manufacturing, given the industry standard to use the parent scrap (IS) or the operation yield needs to inflate the component requirements such that the manufacturing can complete the full requirement, including scrap or yield. In these third party systems, this is done, for example, using an order qty of 110 percent, 110 percent component quantity and a manufacturing completion of the 110 percent, per the parent yield percentage, with no requirement to report IS scrap or other work around.
