E1: MOBJ: Unable To Rename Media Object Attachments With More Than 40 Characters (Doc ID 2785350.1)

Last updated on JUNE 18, 2021

Applies to:

JD Edwards EnterpriseOne Tools - Version 9.2 and later
Information in this document applies to any platform.

Symptoms

The limit for media objects attachments name is 50 characters, and it works fine to add an attachment with this length.

However, if trying to rename the attachment anywhere between 40 and 50 characters this is not saved.
The rename works fine with Enhanced media object viewer. It does not with classic MO viewer.

STEPS
-----------------------
The issue can be reproduced at will with the following steps:
1. Add a new file attachment in P01012 - test_for_MO_very_long_name_in_order_to_rename.txt  (49 characters in total)
2. It saves successfully
3. Go back and try to edit the file name.
You can delete some of the characters, but cannot add new ones. It only allows you to modify the file name up to 40 characters long.
