What causes the system to create a 'Quantity Change Invalid' error in the Current Item Qty field within the Asset Record (P1201)?

When a user attempts to change the Current Item Qty field in Asset Revisions (P1201), Location tab, the following error displays:

Quantity Change Invalid

Error ID 3464

The issue can be reproduced at will with the following steps:

1. Inquire on an asset in Asset Search and Location (P1204).

2. Select the record to access the P1201; click on the Location tab.

3. In the Current Item Qty field, enter a new quantity and enter a valid location.

4. Click on the OK button and notice that the system displays the following error:

Quantity Change Invalid
