E1: 34: Combination of Expedite Firm Supply Order and Planned (PLO) Order Message for OPC4 - Period of Supply Requirement is Still Short of Requirements (R3483) (Doc ID 2802311.1)

Last updated on AUGUST 26, 2021

Applies to:

JD Edwards EnterpriseOne Requirements Planning - Version 9.2 and later
Information in this document applies to any platform.

When one or more firm work order supply order(s) for a Period of Supply (OPC 4) planning item is at maximum order quantity and cannot be increased due to constraints, the order action messages, such as expedite (or defer) are not combined with net new planned order (PLO) messages, as expected. This results in an under supply or negative ending available (=EA) in the time series planning horizon.

  1. Enter fresh planning data for an OPC 4 item and set a min, max, and or multiple quantity to constrain the planning, such as then requiring multiple orders to meet requirements.
  2. Create firm order(s) that will require action messages, such as expedite or defer messages.
  3. Enter demand dates and quantities such that E expedite, D defer, and B Order and Expedite or O Order messages are expected to meet requirements.
  4. Run R3483 and review time series and messages. When work order supply is already at order maximum, then G increase is not generated. In this case, the supply short of requirements, needs a net new PLO for the remainder of the requirement, otherwise inventory will be driven negative. Note that there is no PLO for work order supply.
