E1: 31: Work Order Processing (R31410) Calculates Parts List Quantity Incorrectly, for Negative Quantity on BOM, When Having Different UOMs for Primary and Component (Doc ID 2806998.1)

Work Order Processing (R31410) is calculating incorrectly the PL quantity for negative quantity BOM parts, when there is a UOM conversion defined from the primary to the component UOM. The negative BOM can be useful when some of the component is put back in stock (like yeast).

The issue can be reproduced at will with the following steps: 

  1. In P4101 Item Master and P41026 Item Branch, create an M and a P type parent and component item. For the parent, the UOM is EA for both primary and production UOM.
  2. For the component, set the primary UOM as L (litre) and the component UOM as KG. Item specific conversion is 1 L = 0.5 KG.
  3. In P3002 BOM, add one line for the component with a negative quantity and Variable for F/V flag (ex. -0.23 KG) and one line for the component with a negative quantity and Fixed for F/V flag (ex. -1000 KG). This is to put back in stock the component that is not actually consumed (like yeast).
  4. In P48013 WO Master, create a new WO for 1000 EA of the parent.
  5. Run R31410 Work Order Processing over the WO to attach the PL and print the pick slip.
  6. Check R31415 Work Order Print and notice the Quantity Required is doubled for the two negative quantity lines with the component: -460 KG for the variable line and -2000 KG for the fixed line. This is like the UOM conversion is used on the inverse rate (2 instead of 0.5), when actually no UOM conversion is needed (BOM is also in KG, as the PL is).
