Symptoms
QPIP tax type CK, is putting all gross pay into excludable and not calculating a tax amount during Pre-Payroll, P07210 and in Interim Check Entry, P07210I.
**If there are benefit DBAs set to add to gross, that amount is not put into excludable and a tax amount will calculate on the benefit.
Steps:
- Populate the Payroll Tax Area Profile table (F069016) with the Canadian PPIP tax rate codes via the Tax Area Information application (P069012): Tax Area P19P01, or equivalent, and Tax Type CK with Statutory Code P01, or equivalent.
-
In order for a description to appear on the pay statements, register and tax history, also add records for 700190000 CJ and CK in the tax area information table (F069016).
-
In Corporate Tax IDs (P059081A) set up a record for Tax Area P19P01, or equivalent, and Tax Type CK.
-
In Unemployment Insurance Rates (P079221) set up a record for Tax Area P19P01, or equivalent, and Tax Type CK.
-
On Employee Tax Overrides>Provincial tab, update the PPIP Tax Rate Code (on new hires it will default).
- Process a Pre-Payroll (P07210) or enter an Interim (P07210I) and review the pay information to see the gross pay in the excludable bucket.
