Symptoms

NOTE: In the examples below, the sample string represents a fictitious sample (based on made up data used in the EnterpriseOne test environment).  Any similarity to actual persons, living or dead, is purely coincidental and not intended in any manner.

When uploading the Tennessee SUI (State Unemployment Insurance), R89078343, quarterly file to the State, an error is given on records that have the employee's last name followed by a space then a suffix; for example: Smith Jr, Eric  The file must be manually corrected by removing any spaces in the last name field and then it can be uploaded successfully.

STEPS:
  1. Find a Tennessee employee with the last name followed by a space and a suffix in their Alpha Name E.g: Smith Jr, in Address Book, P0111.
  2. Create the TN SUI flat file by running the R07810 (Weeks Worked) in Final mode, R078300 (Prepare Data for SUI Reporting) and after Selecting TN State from the P074001R (Report Setup), run the R89078343 (Tennessee SUI Magnetic Media (43)) and review the produced flat file.
  3. The space between the employee's last name and suffix is causing the error: "The Employee's Last Name Contains Numeric Characters, Comma, Period, or one or more Spaces on Line '#'.
