E1: 04: Asking to Have a System Constant to Allow Switching the Masking for Bank Accounts ON or OFF (Doc ID 2818618.1)

Last updated on NOVEMBER 01, 2021

Applies to:

JD Edwards EnterpriseOne Accounts Payable - Version 9.2 and later
Information in this document applies to any platform.

Symptoms

Currently there is no option to allow switching the Masking for Bank Accounts ON or OFF, and when being ON to allow explicitly defining where to show/use masked bank accounts.

And when being OFF, to have the option of defining the masking of bank account information on selected applications, for continuing to use without any modification the custom applications involving CBNK (Bank Account Number - Customer) and IBAN (International Bank Account Number) fields.

The customer is asking the Masking for Bank Accounts feature to be always OFF, and by using a system constant to be able to turn it ON.

Based on the functionality of Data Security for Bank Accounts, described on JDE E1: Data Security/Masking for Bank Accounts in EnterpriseOne (Doc ID 2790533.2), has been enabled the masking of real-time customer bank account numbers on JD Edwards EnterpriseOne interfaces like Applications, Reports and data browser. And there is available the Data Protection Configuration program (P0040) to specify the users, the programs, and the level of access for the unmasking of bank account numbers.

In other words, now masking is always ON, unless the exceptions defined on P0040 application.
