Symptoms

Users are unable to view PDF outputs if the WSJ(Work with Submitted Jobs) application is opened by selecting the virtual host server name from Work with Servers page ( Application: P986116 Version: ZJDE0002) in a setup where Virtual Batch Queue is configured and jobs are submitted to a Virtual Batch Queue(VBQ).

A Processing Option in P986116 controls whether to display on entry either the P986110B Submitted Jobs screen or the P986116 Work with Servers Screen. If the Processing option value is set to 1(Version ZJDE0002) , this indicates Management entry and the end user is presented with the P986116 Work With Servers screen and the end user must choose the specific server name for which the jobs will be displayed. On this screen if a user selects the virtual host server name, then the P986110B Submitted Jobs  application opens and shows the submitted job records successfully . However, whenever users try to view the PDF output, following error is received on screen:

Steps to replicate :

1. Login to a Web client of JDE Instance where Virtual Batch Queue is Configured for use. Refer E1: UBE: Virtual Batch Queues in E1 9.2.5.x And Later - What Are They, And How Does One Set Them Up? (Doc ID 2748939.1) .
2. Ensure that Process Processing Option is set to 1(Management entry) for Version ZJDE0002 of application P986116. 
   
   • Type IV in fast path and open Work with Interactive Versions application P983051
   • Enter P986116 in Interactive application field and press Find 
   • Select Version ZJDE0002 and Take the Row exit menu for Processing Options
   • Ensure the processing Option is set to 1
     
3. Type P986116|ZJDE0002 in fast path. On the "Work With Servers" Screen select the DataSource for Virtual Host Server name. This will open Submitted Job Search(P986110B). 
4. Select any record for a submitted job and try to view the PDF output by clicking on View Output icon .
5. Notice the error "Unknown Host <VIRTUAL HOST NAME> (VIRTUAL HOST NAME will be the server name that you selected in step 3 above)
6. Repeat steps 3 and 4 but select an Actual Server Host name instead of a Virtual Server Host name and the PDF output will be displayed successfully 
7. Type P986116|ZJDE0001 in fast path. This should Submitted Job Search(P986110B) directly without any prompt for servers
8. Select any record for a submitted job and try to view the PDF output by clicking on View Output icon. PDF output will be displayed successfully
