E1: SEC: Application Security and Data Selection Security Not Taking Effect at the Role Level for Batch Version (Doc ID 2823321.1)

Last updated on NOVEMBER 22, 2021

Applies to:

JD Edwards EnterpriseOne Tools - Version SP24 and later
Information in this document applies to any platform.

Application Security (Type 3) has been set up for a particular UBE versions as follows:

Application Security (Type 3)
Group/Role Application Version Run Install
TESTROLE R42565 VER00005 N N
TESTROLE R42565 VER00020 Y Y

Data Selection Security (Type 5) has been set up for the following UBE version:

Data Selection Security (Type 5)
Group/Role Application Version Change Prompt for Data Selection Prompt for Versions Prompt for Values
TESTROLE R42565 VER00020 N N N N

When a user belonging to the group/role (e.g. TESTROLE) login to E1, he is still able to see the Menu task for UBE R42565 VER00005 in the Menu. The expected behavior is that user should not see the menu item for this UBE version VER00005 as Application Security is set to Run=N.

When user run the other version UBE R42565 VER00020, although Data Selection security is set to Change=N and Prompt for Data Selection=N, the user is still able to see Data Selection and make changes to the version. The expected behavior is that user should be able to run VER00020 but not allow to Change or Modify the Data Selection.
