E1: 31A: Manufacturing Accounting (R31802A) Produces Distribution AAI Number 3401 Invalid Error in Work Center Even Though Journal Entries are Created (Doc ID 2823371.1)

Symptoms

When running Manufacturing Accounting (R31802A) where the Flex Accounting processing option is set to 2 (Use Flex Accounting and AAI 3401 Doc Type) and the processing option for DMAAI (P40950) number 2 is set to 1, the following error is found in the Work Center:

Distribution AAI Number 3401 Invalid

The issue can be reproduced at will with the following steps:

  1. Create a Work Order (P48013) for a standard cost manufactured item that has routing costs (i.e. B1, B2).
  2. Run Order Processing (R31410) to attach the Routing and Parts List.
  3. Report Hours and Quantities (P311221) and update.
  4. Run Manufacturing Accounting (R31802A) with the Flex Accounting processing option set to 2 (Use Flex Accounting and AAI 3401 Doc Type).
  5. Inquire on the report; the last page displays "No Errors Occurred. Batch Is Ready For G/L Post."
  6. Inquire on the Work Center and notice the following error:
    Distribution AAI Number 3401 Invalid
