Symptoms

If a child equipment is in a different company than its parent, upon making a change, the system may update the child's company to be the same as the parent asset. This occurs if Default Cost Account from Parent option is active.

Steps:
1. Create a parent equipment (P1701/P1702) using a Business Unit in company 200 and a cost account in company 200 (e.g., M30 and 200.2060).
2. Create an equipment record that is a child of the equipment in step 1; use a Business Unit in company 50 and a cost account in company 50 (e.g., 50 and 50.2060).
3. In the Equipment Master Revisions (P1702), activate processing option 6 in the Defaults tab: 1 = Default cost account information.
4. Re-inquire on the child equipment (P1701/P1702); change the serial number and save.
5. Inquire on the child equipment again and notice that the system has changed the company from 50 to 200.
