The Mexican Tax Authority (SAT - Servicio de Administración Tributaria) has published a new legislation update for its electronic invoice system, introducing electronic waybills. The e-Waybill is known as ‘Carta Porte’ and will replace the paper-based Waybill. The document was published on May 1, 2021 and the new format became mandatory on October 1, 2021.

The Carta Porte is considered a complementary Bill of Lading document, so may require integration into the E1: 49 (Transportation Management) module. The SAT Authority has already published a list of the item/SKU codes that can be used in the new document.
