E1: 42: Availability Check for Quote Orders with No Stock Commitment
(Doc ID 2827423.1)
Last updated on DECEMBER 10, 2021
Applies to:
JD Edwards EnterpriseOne Sales Order Management - Version 9.2 and laterInformation in this document applies to any platform.
Symptoms
The customer would like to improve the SQ sales quote workflow in such a way that even during quote entry the system checks the stock and displays the available quantity but without stock commitment.
This is required to add a proper delivery time at the quote to show the customer accurate information how long the delivery will take after order placement.
Current workaround is to change the branch/plant MCU at line level manually to the physical warehouse to ensure that this is used to check the availability + supply and demand against.
Together with changing the POs:
Tab 5-Commitment
- PO 1. Activate Availability Checking = 2
- PO 3. Display Supply and Demand Inquiry Form = 1
they get the field Quantity Available QAVAL shown for the user and if there is not enough quantity available it automatically opens the Supply and Demand Inquiry.
This is only required for quotes as it really doesn't make sense for blanket orders.
Even if quotes and blanket orders are treated technically in the same way they are logically different.
