E1: 34: Master Planning Schedule - Multiple Plant (R3483) Ignores Firm Supply Order in Demand B/P for Items Defined with Min, Max or Multiple Constraints When Availability Checking is ON in Branch Relationship (P3403T) (Doc ID 2828062.1)

Last updated on JUNE 11, 2024

Applies to:

JD Edwards EnterpriseOne Requirements Planning - Version 9.2 and later
Information in this document applies to any platform.

Symptoms

Firm Supply order in demand plant is ignored when there is a quantity available for transfer from the supply plant. When the planning constraints, such as Min Max Mult Constraints, prevent the OTST transfer, the planning shortage to be made up of demand plant (WO or OP) supply orders creates a planned O or B order message despite a firm supply order for same, same date and quantity. The firm supply then gets action message such as defer to later bucket or gets a cancel message, if no longer required. This creates a never ending nervousness to the planning messages with planned orders and cancel orders, in never ending cycle.

Steps:

  1. Enter fresh P41026 planning data for this test, Populating item min order quantity
  2. Enter a P3403T branch relationship, Availability Check (A C) AVLC field to 1, enabled.
  3. Adjust in P4114 quantity on hand in supply plant, but for quantity less than demand plant item min order quantity s.
  4. Enter future dated, demand plant, demand quantities, such as P3460 forecast records, also less than the min order quantity .
  5. Run R3483 MRP, using MPF cat code (4), and Review P3411 Planning messages and P3413 Time series. OK so far.
  6. Process Messages only for the first future dated P3411 planned supply order for all items.
  7. Rerun MRP, making no further changes. Note that system generates action messages that are NOT as expected. A rerun of MRP after processing supply order, with no other changes, should not create any action messages.
