Symptoms

The Attachment Manager in 9.2 is more time consuming than the past way of opening attachments. It requires more clicks. Also, there is no preview on PDF files.

Using Attachment Manager (Enhanced Media Object Viewer - With ActiveX Control Disabled)

1. User clicks on the paperclip icon in the grid row header. The Attachment Manager appears on the right.
   
   
   
   
2. In order to view the PDF attachment, user has to download it by right clicking on the icon and then select Download from the option list.
   
   
   
   
3. User is then presented with the following screen where user can choose to either open the attachment with the browser or to save the file.
   
   
   
   
   
   

Using Classic Media Object Viewer  (With ActiveX Control Enabled on IE browser)

1. User click on the paperclip icon in the grid row header.
   
   
2. Classic Media Object Viewer is launched and the PDF is directly displayed in the Viewer.
   
   
   
   

As you can see, using the new Attachment Manager or Enhanced Media Object Viewer requires more clicks to open an attachment.
