E1: 77Y: Cancelled T4 Included In Magnetic Media File And Summary Report (Doc ID 2854293.1)

Last updated on OCTOBER 02, 2023

Applies to:

JD Edwards EnterpriseOne Canadian Payroll - Version 9.2 and later
Information in this document applies to any platform.

Symptoms

When a T4 has been canceled, no T4 form is being produced, which is correct.  However, the canceled T4 is being included in the magnetic media XML file (R89772001X) and the T4 Transmission Report (R77417).  This results in a discrepancy between the T4 forms produced and the magnetic media file.

STEPS TO REPRODUCE:
BV R89772001X only has one version (XJDE0001).
The Processing Option for Data Type Code on the Work file tab is set to O = Original Data

1. From an Archived Year-End Id, Select Row → Document Inquiry → Employee Doc Inq.
2. Select an employee with an Amended T4 (Amend Status = 1).
3. Select Row → Print XML.

RESULTS:
R77417 shows Data Type Code = A (Amended) and the employee with the Amended T4 is correctly included in both the R77417 and the xml file.

NOTE:  If a T4 form is generated for the employee, the form is generated correctly for this employee with Amended status.

4. Select an employee with a Cancelled T4 (Amend Status = 2).
5. Select Row → Print XML.

RESULTS:
R77417 shows Data Type Code = A (Amended) and the employee with the Cancelled T4 is correctly included in both the R77417 and the XML file.

Next step:
1. From an Archived Year-End Id, Select Row → Submit Mag Media.
2. Select R77501 – Create T4 Magnetic Media File and Form → Submit Selections.

RESULTS:
R77417 shows Data Type Code = O (Original) and only the employees with the Cancelled T4 and the Amended T4 are included in both the R77417 and the xml file.

This is incorrect.  No employees should be included because the year end id is archived and the records included are not original records.
