E1: 49: What Calendar is used When Evaluating the Scheduled Pick And Promised Delivery Date in Transportation? (Doc ID 2858030.1)

Last updated on DECEMBER 01, 2023

Applies to:

JD Edwards EnterpriseOne Transportation Management - Version 9.2 and later
Information in this document applies to any platform.

Goal

Customer enters Transportation Sales Orders which use a route with 1 lead day and 5 transit days.
A Depot calendar has been set up for the branch plant, with weekends set to non working days.
When an order is entered with a promised delivery date of 02/25/2022 (25 Feb 2022) with backwards calculation one would expect that the Promised Ship Date is 18/02/2022 (5 days), as it cannot be shipped on the 20th due to that day being on the weekend. The Scheduled Pick Date then should be set to 17/02/2022 (1 day).
This functionality however appears to work only when using a ROUTE Calendar. It does not work with using a DEPOT or Branch Plant Calendar.
What calendar should be used when calculating lead and transit days?
