E1: OMW: RDA: Cannot Do Any OMW Compare Tools (RDA Compare, BSVW Compare, etc) Againsts a Previous Release Central Objects Source (Doc ID 2860585.1)

Symptoms

The system administrator has set up an old Environment and Path Code (e.g. PD900) so that developers can compare object specifications with the previous release during an upgrade.

When using RDA Compare, system cannot find the source object in the old release Central Objects.

Steps to duplicate:

  1. Navigate to Object Management Workbench (OMW) from a Development Client.
  2. Check out the object (e.g. R00921) to be the target.
  3. Click the OMW Design button, click the Design Tools tab and then click the RDA Compare button.
  4. In the Spec Compare Manager, click the Select Source button.
  5. In the Select Source Object, select Central Objects option under Object Location
  6. Select the previous release Path Code (e.g. PD900) for the Path Code field.
  7. Enter the report object id (e.g. R00921) in the Object Name field, the Object Name field is highlighted in red.




    Click on the Visual Assist button for the Object Name field, the list is empty.

 
From the jasdebug.log on the development client, the following statements can be seen:
