E1: 34: MRP Goes Negative With RQMX RQMN And Mult Quantity Set-Up For An Item (R3483) (Doc ID 2862990.1)

Last updated on JANUARY 22, 2024

Applies to:

JD Edwards EnterpriseOne Requirements Planning - Version 9.2 to 9.2 [Release 9.2]
Information in this document applies to any platform.

Symptoms

When a parent item with frozen WO's or past due requirements and the component item with dependent demand, with min/max/multiple (RQMX RQMN and MULT) quantities populated, and Safety Stock exists for the parent, MRP cancels needed firm supply orders resulting in Negative End Availability.

Steps:
==================

  1. Create a P4101 Component Item with a set-up in P41026 Item Branch populating values for:
    1. - Maximum Reorder Qty
    2. - Minimum Reorder Qty
    3. - Multiple Order Quantity
    4. - Safety Stock
  2. Have the top parent P48013 Manufacturing item with frozen Work Order in the past and the component item should receive dependent demand.
  3. Run R3483 MRP.
  4. Review P3411 Messages and P3413 Time Series. The component shows excess P3411 C-Cancel Messages, resulting in P3413 Time Series with negative ending availability (=EA).
