Currently, JD Edwards EnterpriseOne does not have a default option to reserve an asset automatically during rental contract creation. Reservation contracts can only be done in Add mode, therefore once the contract is created, system does not allow re-changing the asset to a "reserved" status.
Users can only reverse the fact that the reservation has not been done properly during the contract creation by deleting the rental contract and creating a new contract with a reservation.

Users need to have a default option available to reserve the contract automatically during rental contract creation. This out of the box option could be implemented through either a separate check-mark / flag defined in the Rental Constants - P54R01 or through a new processing option defined behind the Rental Contract Entry - P54R10.
