Symptoms

A lot number exists for multiple items and the lot status code is blank on lot master and lot location (P4108). When the lot status code is changed using the Lot Master Availability (P41280) application, the Supplier field (F4108.VEND) is updated with the supplier of the record in the lot master with the same lot number but with the smallest short item number.

The issue can be reproduced at will with the following steps:

  1. For this scenario same lot is required to be created for different items.
  2. P4310 Enter a purchase order for each item using different suppliers.
  3. P4312 receive the orders in new location/lot and manually enter Supplier Lot.
  4. Now the same lot exists for different items, each item/lot having a different Supplier (VEND) in Lot Master.
  5. Set P41280 Processing Option to allow Lot Status change.
  6. Open P41280 with the above version and select one combination item/lot.
  7. Update the Lot Status and save.
  8. Verify the record and note that the Supplier (F4108.VEND) was changed in  Lot Master. It seems that the supplier is updated with the one from the item with the lowest short item number.
