Symptoms
When System Constants (P41001) is setup to not allow duplicate lots, the maintenance part list program P17730 is not respecting this setup and allows inserting duplicate lot into part list (F3111) and into lot master (F4108). The same issue is encountered in the CAM - Manage Work Order Parts (P13730) and Manage Work Order Parts (P90CD015). This causes Error ID 2501 - "Lot Already Exists for a Different Item" to be triggered when the user tries to transact original item/lot.
When a manufacturing work order (P48013) is created and trying to add a duplicate lot into the part list (P3111) with different item number, the Error ID 2501 - "Lot Already Exists for a Different Item". This is the correct / expected behavior.
Steps:
- P41001 Configure Allow Duplicate Lots = 3 (Duplicate Lots Not Allowed / Unique to Item; Multiple B/P's).
- P4108 Create a new lot number. Create a manufacturing work order (P48013) and try to add this lot into the part list (P3111) with different item number. System raises error 2501 Lot Already Exists for a Different Item. This is correct behavior.
- Create a maintenance or service work order (P48201/P17714) and try to add same lot with a different item number into part list (P17730). No error is given. Lot has been created in lot master (F4108). Try to transact this lot number in P4114. Error 2501 Lot Already Exists for a Different Item.
