E1: 31: P31114 (WO Completion) With Lot Process Type = 4 (Serial Number Optional) Generates Error 4723 When The Quantity Is Greater Than One. (Doc ID 2877717.1)

Symptoms

When performing a P31114 (Completion) for a quantity more than 1 without inputting a serial number, the program generates the error 4723 (Quantity Restriction Exceeded for Item).  Cause: This item contains a quantity restriction for the Serial Number.
The quantity cannot exceed one (1) primary unit of measure.  This quantity restriction is being enforced due to the LSN process type (SRCE) for this item.

Steps to Duplicate:
1. Create a P48013 (Manufacturing Work Order) for a parent item for a quantity of 3.
2. Have multiple F41021 (Location) table records for this item where the Serial Number for these records are 'blank'
3. The parent item has the following P4101 and P41026 settings: Serial No. Required = N (Serial Number Not Required), and Lot Process Type = 4 (Serial Number Optional)
4. If desired, set the P31114 WO Completion Process Option tab #7 option #1 to a '1' to allow duplicate LSNs.
5. Complete the work order via P31114 (Work Order Completions) for the parent item for a quantity of 3 without inputting serial numbers (which are set to optional). Press save, and error 4723 (Quantity Restriction Exceeded for Item) is generated.

Desired outcome:
When NOT inputting a serial number at the time of the P31114 completion, requesting that the system SHOULD allow a quantity of more than 1 to be completed at time of the P31114 completion when the Lot Process Type = 4 (optional), and subsequent to the P31114 Completion, unique serial numbers can be entered as needed.  Currently at the time of P31114 Completions, the user does not input any serial numbers (which are optional) and it is requested that the system should not trigger the error at this time" when there are no serial numbers being entered at the time of P31114 completions with the Lot Process Type = 4 (Serial Number optional).

 Client reports this used to work this way prior to taking Release 22.
