Symptoms

Batch Credit Hold R42642 Enhancement
The R42642 batch Credit Hold program could be far more powerful if a Processing Option was added to enable the Temp Credit Message (F03012.TSTA) to prompt the population of the Credit Hold (F03012.HOLD) field in the Customer Mater table.

This would enable AR personnel to run Credit Analysis Refresh R03B525 to populate the Credit Hold field via the Temp Credit Message. The Credit Hold update would then be applied to open Sales Order based on a Status Range (specified in the existing ‘Edit’ Tab) when executing the standard R42642 batch logic.

Operationally, the option to populate the Credit Hold field could be strategically run prior to printing Picks (eg Next Status 540) to insure that a deteriorating credit standing is reacted to without manual oversight before Sales Orders are released for fulfillment.

If the Temp Credit Message field is equal to ‘XX’ (Visual Assist 00/CM), populate the Credit Hold with ‘YY’ (Visual Assist 42/HC).

Note: if either the Temp Credit Message or Credit Hold fields are left blank, no Credit Hold update will be performed. If Future Commit is active on a Sales Order, no Credit Hold update will be attempted If both the Temp Credit Message and the Credit Hold fields are designated with an asterisk (*), both fields will be programmatically blanked out..

Credit Analysis Refresh R03B525 Program Notes
These messages are automatically updated by running Credit Analysis Refresh (R03B525). The Customer Master record (F03012) will be updated according to the Customer's account balance, aged delinquent amounts and aging specifications as defined by the delinquency notification policy. The policy may have different messages assigned to each aging bucket used by the policy. If the Customer has balances in several aging categories, the Temporary Credit Message from the oldest category is used. When all invoices for a customer are paid, a version of R03B525 can be run to reset the Temporary Credit Message to the Credit Message. The standard version of R03B525 will not refresh the Credit Message because typically the Data Selection only includes open invoices (Pay Status A or S) Therefore, when an invoice is closed, the invoice is not included in Credit Analysis Refresh processing. The Data Selection must be changed to include all invoices, open or closed to re-set the Temp Credit Message.
