Symptoms

We are using the standard Item Master field for National Motor Freight Classification located on the Storage/Shipping tab of P4101 Item Master. Request to increase the NMFI NMFCItemNumber data item from size 6 to size 9 to accommodate industry standards. This is a regulatory requirement from the Transportation industry. The values are 9 characters long. The number is used to communicate with independent parties (carriers) with their independent ERP/TMS platforms. Example is 074580-00.
