Symptoms

When installing an update package on to a webdev client, the package install process hangs if the user is not assigned to a SYSADMIN role, even if the user has local admin rights on the fat client.

The following error displays in the jdedebug log:


STEPS

  1. Login into the Deployment Server
  2. Assemble a Full package as per section Assembling Packages in the Package Management Guide
  3. Submit the update package for build as per section Building Packages in the Package Management Guide
  4. Deploy the package on the workstation as per section Deploying Packages in the Package Management Guide
  5. Sign in to workstation and install the package
