E1: 40: Validate the User Field when Adding a Record in P400951 Work With Default Location & Printers (Doc ID 2895895.1)

Last updated on SEPTEMBER 14, 2022

Applies to:

JD Edwards EnterpriseOne Procurement and Subcontract Management - Version 9.2 and later
Information in this document applies to any platform.

Symptoms

Currently there is no validation of the Terminal/User ID field in P400951 Work With Default Location & Printers. One can enter any string value is this field and it will be saved. P400951 was brought over to E1 (then OneWorld) in the late 1990s as is. Back then there were only fat clients for E1 and dumb terminals for World. The reason for no validation is you could actually use the machine name (terminal) of the desktop being used. This was designed when a terminal (desktop) could be used by multiple users and there was no way to validate machine names in a network. The Request is to change the name of the Terminal/User ID to User ID and validate the entry against the F0092 Library Lists - User table.
