Symptoms

For Purchased Items with the following setup, the Planned Orders (PLO) messages outside of the freeze fence are short of requirements, resulting in negative Ending Available (=EA) in the P3413 Time Series.

Purchased (P) stock item is setup as Order Policy 1, Lot for Lot, with freeze fence days populated Item has on hand inventory and safety stock quantities Firm Supply orders inside of the freeze fence on non-work days Firm and planned upper level requirements inside purchase item freeze fence Planning horizon includes days

Steps:

  1. Prepare Fresh P41026 Item Branch planning data items setup as above.
  2. Enter P3002 Bill of Material and P3003 Standard Routing
  3. Create P3460 BF Forecast or P4210 Sales Order demand for top level parent item.
  4. Create one or more P48013 work order supply such that work order start dates are inside purchased item freeze fence days.
  5. Freeze one or more parent supply orders
  6. Create firm supply with dates in past and future dated, but inside freeze fence
  7. Run R3483 Material Requirements Planning (MRP) and review P3413 Time Series and P3411 Detail Messages. Note Time series and planned orders show supply short of requirements, outside of freeze fence.
