E1: 42: Sales Order Entry P4210 Allows Entering Sales Orders for Companies Where Customer Master Is Not Defined (Doc ID 2937195.1)

Last updated on MARCH 24, 2023

Applies to:

JD Edwards EnterpriseOne Sales Order Management - Version 9.2 and later
Information in this document applies to any platform.

Symptoms

When customer master records are not defined for a specific company, the Sales Order Entry(P4210) does not prevent users to enter a sales order for that company where customer master is not defined.

Step to reproduce

  1. Select two different companies, ex Company '00001' and '00002'.
  2. Create and address book for a customer ex Address Book Number(Data Item: AN8)= 1234 in Address Book(P01012)
  3. Create a customer master record for 1234 only for the company 00001 in Customer Master (P03013).
  4. Create a sales order for company '0002' for customer 1234 from Sales Order Entry(P4210).
  5. No error occurs and the system successfully generates a sales order.

Expected Behavior

In above scenario, since there is no customer defined for 00002 company, the P4210 issues "Customer Master Information Missing(Error ID: 3490)" error and prevent to generate orders.
